Size 8 ring swivels make any rig more flexible, especially stiff rigs (15lb / 25lb IQ).
Beside creating a pivot point for stiff rigs the ring swivel serves as a massive advantage to most rigs, it allows the hooklink to lay flat against the lakebed, not spooking any carp visiting the swim or feeding on the baited area.

A size 11 ring swivel creates a strong hinge in any type of hooklink. It's particularly effective when used in the hinged pop-up rig using stiff hooklink materials. This is superb as a single hookbait at range or cast to feeding fish in close. The stiffness of the hooklink makes it very hard to eject.
